Being Delbessie ready!
The Delbessie Agreement (also known as the State Rural Leasehold Land Strategy) is a framework of legislation, policies and guidelines supporting the environmentally sustainable, productive use of rural leasehold land for agribusiness.
Signed in December 2007 by the QLD Government, AgForce QLD and the Australian Rainforest Conservation Society at Delbessie a property near Hughenden.
Most leases are for a 30 year term, however under the Delbessie agreement there are opportunities to extend this.
This document produced by the NQ Dry Tropics Regional NRM group is a summary of all the available information on this agreement for graziers operating on state rural leasehold land whose lease is approaching renewal. A very useful document that provides a step by step guide through the process. Read More or re-direct to the NQ Dry Tropics page.
