80 Women from across North Queensland travelled to Mareeba to celebrate the International Day of Rural Women in October.

Northern Gulf Resource Management Group and Cape York Natural Resource Management partnered to bring together women from across the region for the Resourcing Women of the North Event which is an opportunity for Rural Women to connect and learn about Natural Resource Management and opportunities in business.

Regional Landcare Facilitator

The Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) has strong knowledge and experience of sustainable agriculture and NRM issues relevant to their region and helps land managers, Landcare groups and farming systems groups in a variety of ways. They promote the Landcare ethic and sustainable agriculture to farmers and land managers as well as assisting groups to seek funding, membership and resources for NRM activities.

Boots for Change

The Gulf Youth in Ag team has received an ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grant from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) to host a "Boots for Change” Dinner to showcase local produce. 

Inspired by the “Boots for Change” project, which was generated at the ABC Heywire Youth Summit to grow awareness of local food production and support family farms, the team came up with the idea of holding a dinner under the stars using all local produce.
